![]() Ironically, with demolition stopped, one of the best sinks is essentially completely stopped up at a time where we really needed our sinks to be active the most. I definitely feel you on sinks - and it plays back into economic mobility and the static pricing nature of houses on that front. ![]() I don't want to talk too much about it in public, but it's a thing. Novel gil generation is definitely a thing in this game in particular ways, beyond just that generated by RMT bots. I suppose it's true that it's overall deflationary - the purchasing power of a gil has gone up broadly, which definitely agrees with that - but it's complicated by the fact that what is arguably the defining manifestation of purchasing power is static, the predictable clockwork cycle of new patch content and dead money hoarders/RMT buyers paying prices that become completely divorced from reality for a few days for prestige buys, motivated sellers looking to extort as much from them as possible to make their static purchase, and add a sprinkle of undercut bots keeping certain markets deflated beyond all sense and reason. (Granted: this is from a Crystal server's perspective, so.) Prices have been basically annihilated with availability and pricing changes, but I've seen it steadily starting to push in weird ways at certain annoying or difficult to obtain things that haven't yet been bumped onto the 'everyone can have it now' roster - a lot of Eureka drops come to mind here as consistently staying flat or even rising in price even while the active population exploded over the past few months, but some other stuff like the dodo has stayed remarkably flat as well. However I'm keeping my eye on things for the future. I'm very lucky that my business isn't heavily affected.yet by the gil generation changes. I think they went too far with the changes, however I'm wondering how much they will scale next expansion. Plus, I've leveled crafters/ gatherers, it really was a tedious slog. The next expansion will show more detail on what their plan is. If I was to guess: The goal is to deflate the lower level markets, it's getting too big to control, and too broad. (Note, I'm not objecting to this, I mean if you have it, you have it, it's not -hard- to make gil in this game.) For some people dropping 30 million once every 14 weeks isn't hard, and they can make it back by the next time. However even then it's on a three month cycle. Occasionally there will be people who snatch up the latest and greatest thing. This is a problem as it's a lot of dead money out there. ![]() Once you've made it, you've made it, and can essentially generate gil to sustain yourself. ![]() Nothing to spend money on at a certain point. One thing is, established people have no sinks. So there isn't much inflationary pressure. What will be interesting to see is how quickly prices will drop next tier (Last tier took too long in my mind). At least in my mind.Įconomic mobility will be the hard one, however how much will someone need in the future? Due to the increase in supply, based on player numbers (More players = more maps, more phanta, more crafters etc), prices have cratered. There really isn't much novel gil generation to be had. With Ishgard reducing the tedium of levelling, it increases the supply of crafters. With the increase in server population, means an increase in crafters. Ishgard reconstruction has made a lot of crafters out of people, and a single crafter really can meet demand. The other problem is, supply goes up much faster now. Last expansion and the expansion before it with POTD/ HoH did the same : Hunting Hawk anyone? That said, there will be replacements, so I count it as a wash. Now that said, scales were going to drop in price as time went on and Nidhogg was easier to farm.
